Alleghany Highlands sixth anniversary Heritage Day on June 3 from 10:00 to 5:00. Heritage Day is partnering with C&O Historical Society for the Heritage Festival that celebrates train history.The event will take place at the Masonic Amphitheatre, the Historic Masonic Theatre, C&O Heritage Center, Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center, Clifton Forge Public Library and Clifton Forge School of the Arts and The Jungle. Over eighty artisans will be demonstrating arts & crafts of the heritage of the Alleghany Highlands in addition to a dozen food vendors, Celtic, English, Gospel and Bluegrass music, experiential activities for kids and adults, Scottish games, a quilt lecture & bed turning by Pepper Cory, & WW1 and WW2 presentations. Irish, Scottish, English, African American, Native American, German and Alleghany Mountain cultures will be celebrated.
The train show will include story telling and vendors selling all things related to the railroad. Explore all the delights of the C&O Heritage Center, view a large exhibit of quilts and embroidery at the AH Arts & Crafts Center.
